8o (203 x 124 mm). Engraved frontispiece and title. Ruled in red throughout. Contemporary English black goatskin, single fillet and leaf roll border surrounding large central lozenge ornament built up from small tools, corners tooled with sun, floral, leaf, circle and star tools, spine in six compartments, with five raised bands, red morocco lettering-piece in one, the remaining with a repeated gilt panel, edges gilt, comb-marbled endleaves (very slight wear at ends of spine). Provenance: Estelle Doheny (morocco bookplate).
