8o (136 x 95 mm). Collation: [A]8 B-R8. 32 lines, head-line and foliation. Gothic type. Woodcut Lombard capitals in two sizes. Title woodcut of two tonsured figures at an altar in a gothic interior (52 x 38 mm), the cut surrounded by woodcut borders, de Worde's woodcut device on last page. (Restoration to margins of title with small portions stengthened in ink, 15 other leaves with skilful restorations, mostly marginal, but K8 and L1 with portions of some lines supplied in ink, quire R possibly from another copy: washed and pressed with edges trimmed slightly shorter; gutter margins and upper corners of R7 and R8 restored, a few letters strengthened or supplied in ink.) Modern blind-panelled brown morocco, edges gilt, by Riviere. Provenance: Early notes on title verso, indistinct inscription on R8v -- York Minster Cathedral Library (ink shelfmark on title and second leaf purchased in 1930 by A.S.W. Rosenbach) -- Estelle Doheny (morocco bookplate).
