Each with a demi-lune scagliola top centred by an armorial shield with yellow fleur-de-lys and a red label on blue ground, within a military trophy and framed by a simulated sienna border, set within a moulded edge, above a frieze drawer and zoomorphic legs terminating in hoof feet, on a concave-sided plinth and on ring-turned ball feet, the escutcheons are replaced, previously further mounted

The tables 'Grecian-black' scagliola marble tops are wreathed by golden ribbons and display Peace trophies of ancient weapons accompanying the armorial escutcheons of Charles d'Anjou, King of Naples. They have elliptical 'consoles deserts' mahogany frames , whose hollowed stretcher-plinths support palm-wrapped goat monopodiae evoking the Arcadian satyr that attended 'the Feast of Bacchus' in antiquity.

The Parisian Tableau general du Gout of 1797 issued related table designs à l'antique whose feet were 'formed by carved hocks'. The hocked leg was particularly favoured for 'athenienne' tripod-tables, such as appeared in the 1804 Sammlung von Zeichnunget der neuester Londner und Pariser Meubles and in the same year in Muster für Tischler, Leipzig (Industrie-Comptoir) (see G. Himmelheber, Deutsche Möbelvorlagen 1900-1900, Munich, 1988, p. 331, no. 1616).
