A Böttger seated pagoda figure
Circa 1720
Seated with his right hand resting on his raised right knee, his left leg tucked beneath his right, his mouth and ears pierced, his laughing face, bald head, partly-exposed torso, hands and foot gilt and highly polished, the whites of his eyes and his teeth left white, wearing a loose white garment incised with folds and edged with dark and pale blue stripes (minute chip to edge of base at back, small chip to edge of base at front adjacent to foot, small areas of wear to gilding)
