Lot Essay

'My aim is to express my emotional response to landscape and mankind with the greatest possible simplicity'. Having been a member of the Brücke between 1910 and 1913, Otto Mueller would draw this motif again and again: young girls with sad eyes, graceful postures and gipsy-like features in front of the deep green-blue of the forest. We thank Professor Dr. Dr. Gerd Presler for his academic contribution.
