A Japanese ivory netsuke of a man and a tiger
Early 19th Century
carved with the man standing beside the tiger holding its tail and head, on a rectangular base with canted corners -- 1½in. (3.9cm.) high; and an ivory netsuke of a recumbent Buddhistic lion with one paw resting on a brocade ball, on an oval base with incised calligraphy to the base, late 19th Century -- 1¼in. (3.2cm.) wide, (minor wear).
