A FRENCH KINGWOOD, TULIPWOOD AND FLORAL MARQUETRY TABLE A ACCOUCHER
Of Louis XV style, 20th Century
The detachable upper part with a pair of rounded compartments flanking a hinged ratcheted book-rest inlaid with a basket of flowers and a parakeet, flanked to either side by a cornucopia of flowers each within a shaped cartouche, and with a drawer on the frieze, the lower part with a black and gilt-japanned dished top decorated with Chinese figures in a landscape, above three drawers and cabriole legs ending in sabots, inscribed in blue chalk on the underside '2820' and 'E6 746'
