Circa 1750-70
Modelled as a lady seated cross-legged playing a reed flute, wearing a pale blue jacket buttoned at the front over long pink pantaloons and an elaborate yellow head-dress, a fan swathed in a puce sash on her lap, the man seated behind her, wearing a blue jacket over yellow and iron-red breeches, his arms held over her shoulders and his feet resting on her knees, leaning forward with his head tilted looking over her shoulder and supporting the flute with his left hand, some restoration
