maker's mark 'TC' flanked by two branches, Geneva, circa 1780/1800, the flange struck with inventory no. 187
Oval box, the cover, sides and base with sablé panels simulating suede framed by bright-cut gold bands, the panels on lid and base centred by oval reserves engraved with trophies of hunting and gardening and surmounted by floral swags, the sides engraved with floral clusters and divided by four circular reserves similarly engraved with trophies of music and with flowers, all panels hung with floral swags, the matted gold borders engraved with garlands of flowers
