by Jean-François Delanoy (fl. 1785-1793), marked, Paris 1785-1789, with the second charge and discharge marks of Henry Clavel 1782-1789, later struck with two French import marks 1864-1893
Circular box, the independent cover, base and sides inset with plaques of multi-colour stained macédoine aventurine glass, the gold mounts stamped and engraved with foliage, the interior lined with blonde horn over engine-turned foils stamped with scattered stars
2 3/8 in. (60 mm.) diam.
