A GOLD-MOUNTED CUT-GLASS SCENT BOTTLE WITH INCORPORATED NÉCESSAIRE
circa 1780/1800, later struck with three French import marks for gold 1864-1893
Slightly tapering flattened flask with hinged cut-glass cover and stopper and two-colour gold cap, the base inlaid with vertical gold piqué stripes on blonde tortoiseshell within two-colour gold mounts, the interior with sliding compartment with pull-stick, fitted with seven implements including three-leaved tables, steel tweezers with incorporated ear-spoon, steel bodkin, nail file, gold-capped pencil and gold-capped steel ear-pick
