The case with brass handle to the breakarch top, arched and silk-backed fishscale sound frets to the sides, the brass-lined front door with ivory escutcheon, raised on outswept feet, with florally engraved brass dial plate and white enamel Roman and Arabic chapter disc and conforming strike/silent disc in the arch, pierced gilt-metal hands, the twin wire fusee movement with verge escapement and strike on bell, the back plate engraved with foliate scrolls and with an urn, signed Robert Philp London -- 16¼in. (41.5cm.) high
