The case with brass handle to a bell top and with silk-backed leaf and scroll cast sound frets to the cornices and sides, with mounts to the front angles modelled as caryatids trailing flowers, on scroll feet, the brass dial with winged cherub mask spandrels to a silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, matted centre, blued steel hands, the arch with subsidiary rings for chime/silent and chime/change, a silvered plaque between signed Jump 55 Pall Mall LONDON, the substantial triple chain fusee movement with hour strike on gong and quarter chimes on eight nested bells, with repeat signature to a back plate with pendulum holdfast -- 33½in. (59.5cm.) high to hilt of handle
