A George III 30-hour mahogany longcase clock, circa 1800
The case with swan-neck cresting centred by a brass ball finial, with brass-capped inset columns, with rectangular trunk door, on plain plinth raised on bracket feet, the 12in. square white painted Roman dial with spandrels decorated with gold flowers on a bright green ground, the centre with subsidiary seconds and date rings and signed Davey Lewes, pierced and blued steel hands, pinned directly to the four pillar movement with anchor escapement and outside countwheel strike on bell -- 83½in. (212cm.) high
