A Victorian mahogany longcase clock, mid 19th century
The hood with swan neck pediment and outset ringed and baluster columns, with short tracery arch trunk door flanked by conforming inset columns, on plinth with canted angles, the 14in. wide white dial with spandrels painted as apostles to a Roman chapter ring, the centre painted with scene of a harpist playing before an enthroned king, with subsidiary seconds ring (lacking hand) and arch date aperture, with rolling moon to the arch above, with falseplate stamped WALKER & HUGHES to the four pillar movement with anchor escapement and rack strike on bell -- 89¾in. (229cm.) high
