This signature was obtained in New York in 1978 when a friend of the vendor visited Rupert Smith, Andy Warhol's printer, at his studio. Lennon happened to be there supervising the final proofing of his Yoko as Mona Lisa silkscreens. He was in a good mood and apparently willing to sign anything that was put in front of him. Hence, a number of rather unusual objects came to be autographed, including plates, paper bags, pieces of cardboard and scraps of paper, i.e. anything that happened to be to hand at the time.
