A RARE JADEITE MUGHAL-STYLE 'CHRYSANTHEMUM' BOWL
QING DYNASTY, 18TH/EARLY 19TH CENTURY

The gently flared sides finely carved with numerous vertical flutes radiating from a central chrysanthemum medallion on the interior, the well further detailed with a peony bloom, borne on a leafy branch that spreads around the cavetto, the reverse similarly decorated with a flowering tree peony, the bowl is raised on a ring foot of chrysanthemum petals extending from the floral bloom forming the base, the translucent stone of pale apple-green with darker green inclusions worked into the overall pattern
