Further details
The son of a sculpture professor at the Danish Royal Academy of Arts, Jens Quistgaard trained at the Georg Jensen silversmithy before establishing himself as an independent designer in the 1940s. In 1954 Quistgaard was awarded the presitgious Lunning Prize, and the same year founded the manufacturing company, Dansk International, that was to be for thirty years instrumental to the international dissemination of the Danish Modern Style.
