CIRCA 380-370 B.C.
Side A: a Dionysiac scene, a draped maenad running to the right, carrying tambourine, turning back towards a young Dionysos with thyrsos and a kantharos in his hand, a prancing satyr in front, wearing short boots, carrying a flaming torch and a kalyx krater on his shoulder
Side B: three draped youths, one with staff
Elaborate palmettes beneath the handles, a band of meander with crossed squares below, laurel wreath beneath the rim, repaired with some repainting

Provenance
Formerly in the Rycroft collection. The monogram of this British collector (1838-1884) appears on the base; his collection was sold by a descendant in 1915 at auction in London.
