An ivory netsuke of Rakan seated on rocks
18th Century
the emaciated figure carved wearing draped robes holding a pouch, seated on rockwork, incised signature to underside -- 1 7/8in. (4.8cm.) high; and a wood netsuke of a double gourd, carved with a small fly to the side and an articulated ivory maggot beside, 19th Century incised signature to reverse -- 1¾in. (4.5cm.) high, (old wear).
