A LOUIS XV ORMOLU-MOUNTED TULIPWOOD, KINGWOOD AND MARQUETRY TABLE EN CHIFFONIERE
Circa 1755, stamped C*WOLFF
The serpentine shaped top with a central inlaid basket of flowers within a green-stained rocaille frame and slight gallery, above three drawers, the sides and back inlaid with sprays of flowers within cartouches, on cabriole legs ending in rocaille sabots, joined by a stretcher shelf with similar floral inlay, the escutcheons probably replaced
27½in. (69.8cm.) high, 16¾in. (42.5cm.) wide, 12½in. (31.6cm.) deep

A nearly identical table, certainly also by Wolff -- although without the C * WOLFF stamp of the present lot, was formerly in the Giuseppe Rossi Collection, sold Sotheby's London, 11 March 1999, lot 795.
