A SILVER-MOUNTED MEISSEN PRUNUS-MOULDED HAUSMALEREI GOLDCHINESEN SMALL TANKARD
Circa 1730, the cover with city marks for Dresden circa 1730, gilt at Augsburg, probably in the workshop of Abraham Seuter
The moulded flowers enriched in blue, green and puce, gilt and chased between these sprays with Chinese figures including a man standing to the left of a palm tree, two men flanking a tree, two seated men in discussion at the foot of a tree and a man holing a parasol, each vignette on a variant bracket, gilt birds perched on of in flight above the flowers, the rim and foot with a gilt band and further dotted scallops, the mouth flange gilt; the cover with central boss and radiating gadroons, shell thumb rest and strapwork extending along the handle to hold the cover in place
4½in. (11.4cm.) high, the tankard; 5 5/8in. (14.3cm.) high overall
