A GEORGE II HARDSTONE AND GOLD HUNTING SNUFF-BOX SET WITH AN ENAMEL
circa 1750/1760
Kidney-shaped box with tapering convex brown/green/yellow puddingstone base, the lid chased with a fox hunt scene on a matted ground surrounded by foliate scrolls and latticework, centred by an oval enamel plaque painted with three hounds catching a fox, reeded gold mounts, the wavy thumbpiece echoed in the upper base mount of the front side
