maker's mark 'ICI' a crown above, in a vertical lozenge, Geneva under French occupation, circa 1809/1814, with the restricted warranty mark for gold, French Departments 1809-1819
Rectangular box with rounded corners, the panels on cover and base engine-turned with vertical wavy reeding forming alternating wavy and straight leaf garlands, the lid centred by an escutcheon-shaped blank reserve with engraved border, the four side panels engine-turned with horizontal wavy reeding, the four corners stamped with stylized leaf rosettes in a lozenge framed by diagonal reeding, the matted gold borders stamped with trailing foliage and stylized pine-cones, incorporated slighty everted thumbpiece
