A GERMAN PARCEL-ENAMELLED GOLD SNUFF-BOX
by Charles Colins Sons (fl. c. 1837 - after 1870), marked, Hanau, circa 1860, later struck with two French import marks for gold 1864-1893
Rectangular box, the lid, baluster sides and base engraved and chased with scrolls and white enamelled strapwork end enamelled in translucent red over reeded champlevé engine-turning, the lid centred by a plain gold cartouche, raised scroll thumbpiece
2 3/8 in. (60 mm.) wide
