The Botanical Magazine; or, Flower-Garden Displayed, London: Stephen Couchman for W. Curtis, 1793-1800. Volumes I - XIV bound in 7. 8° (232 x 140mm.). 504 engraved plates, all hand-coloured except one, one folding. (Front free endpaper of vol. V torn with loss, title of vol. VII spotted and index leaves torn with slight loss, upper edges of vol. IV lightly stained). Contemporary speckled calf, covers ruled in gilt, spines gilt in compartments with black morocco lettering-pieces (rubbed and scuffed). Provenance: Right Hon. John Barry (armorial bookplate); Lucy Barry (early signature on titles).
