A Satsuma trumpet vase
Meiji Period
with flaring neck and short foot, painted and gilt with shaped panels of figures at leisurely pursuits, birds amongst wisteria and peonies and a figure before a thatched cottage in river landscape, all on a ground of dense kiku heads -- 5½in. (14cm.) high, signed Yabu Meizan, (minor gilt and enamel rubbing).
