An Elegant Negoro Ladle
Muromachi Period (16th Century)
Of carved and assembled wood, the bowl with almost flat base and slightly curved sides joined to a long handle which curves outwards at the other end, the red lacquer scarcely worn, inscribed underneath the end of the handle with a single character ichi [one] over a dot
