END OF SALE
The next sale of teddy bears and soft toys will be held on the 3rd of December.
This will be a special sale marking 100 years of teddy bears. According to Steiff's records the teddy bear was conceieved in the autumn of 1902. After viewing a perfomance of wrestling Barribal bears at a local circus, Richard Steiff invented a doll-like bear with string joints, the famous 55PB. It was not until the spring of 1903 did they make their first public appearence at the Leipzig trade fair.
Christie's is accepting entries until the 16th of September.
