This drawing seems to have been drawn as a pair to the preceeding lot. The large ruined temple in the background of the composition, freely inspired by the temples at Paestum, is also found in a large picture exhibited in the Salon of 1783 under the title Ruines d'un temple bâti à Athènes. The picture is now in the Hermitage, Saint Petersburg, H. Moulin, Hubert Robert et Saint-Petersbourg, exhib. cat., Valence, no. 35.
