Diuina commedia, with the commentary of Cristoforo Landino, Venice: Octavianus Scotus, 23 March 1484. 2° (300 x 217mm). 268 leaves (of 270, lacks t3, substituted with a duplicate of t4, and the final register leaf supplied in facsimile), 64 lines of commentary enclosing the text, and headline, roman letter, woodcut initials, a few large. (2 small holes in b1 and a repair in the inner margin with 6 letters of pen facsimile on the verso, lower blank fore-corner of m3&4 skilfully repaired, short tear in n8, slight defect at foot of K5v with loss of a few letters, some washing). Mid-20th-century vellum. Provenance: expunged 17th-century ownership inscription at head of a2r; a few 16th to 18th-century marginalia. HC 5947; BMC V, 279; GW 7967; Goff D-30.
