the brass pierced, foliate-decorated horizontal plate with a small blue stone with gilt Chinese character with a porcelain hour dial, the inset compass box with porcelain dial four compass points and iron needle, bubble level (replacement support), folding combined plummet and string gnomon support, on three levelling screw feet decorated with red glass beads -- 4¾in. (12cm.) long
