A Meissen ornithological baluster coffee pot and cover
Circa 1745, blue crossed swords mark, Pressnummer 3
Each side painted with a bird perched on a leafy branch and with a butterfly and scattered insects including ladybirds and ants, with Altbrandenstein Ozier-moulded border, the domed cover with a carnation finial and painted with a bird perched on a branch amongst insects within a similarly-moulded border, the bird's head spout terminating in a mask head, with a double-scroll leaf-moulded handle enriched in gilt (small chips to finial, very minor rubbing to gilding)
