A German porcelain baluster mug
Circa 1770, iron-red N.5Z, incised 4 and x, perhaps Ansbach
With a double scroll leaf-moulded handle, painted with a vignette of boat in harbour, a classical urn and column in the forground, with fortified buildings on the far shore, above scrolling leaves, among scattered sprigs of flowers below a gilt rim; and a German porcelain cover with fruit and flower finial (chips to finial, some rubbing to gilding)
