AN ENGLISH BULLET CROSSBOW

With slender steel bow, later strings and spacers, built-in gaffle engraved with chevrons and retained by a catch at the rear, signed back-sight en suite, sprung fore-sight, straight fluted ebony stock of rectangular section (minor cracks) with iron mounts and inlaid in front of the lock with an engraved decorative shaped panel and a smaller slotted plate to protect the stock from the sear, engraved trigger-guard, and unusual banana-shaped iron pommel (iron parts with scattered pitting)
