AN ENGLISH BULLET CROSSBOW
Late 17th/early 18th Century
With slender steel bow with later strings and bone spacers secured at its centre by vertical iron loops, built-in gaffle incorporating the folding back-sight and secured in the spanned position by a brass pin passing through the stock, at the rear end of the gaffle a turned brass button, partly fluted straight tapering walnut stock (repaired) with iron mounts but without pommel, and folding fore-sight (minor restorations)
