AN ENGLISH BULLET CROSSBOW
Late 17th Century
With slender steel bow with later strings and bone spacers secured at its centre by iron wedges, built-in gaffle incorporating the back-sight and with integral iron button and sliding iron retaining-ring, straight tapering blackened walnut stock (cracked and chipped) rounded and fluted on the underside, with iron mounts and an oval silver panel in front of the lock, folding fore-sight, and later turned wooden pommel (iron parts pitted)
