A 16-BORE SILVER-MOUNTED FLINTLOCK HOLSTER PISTOL

With slightly belled barrel in three stages separated by mouldings, the breech with indistinct signature, silver fore-sight (incomplete), engraved tang, signed rounded lock with moulded border, moulded figured walnut full stock (repaired) carved in relief with foliage at the barrel tang and rear ramrod-pipe, full cast and chased silver mounts of fine quality, pierced side-plate decorated with strapwork and foliage, trigger-guard with foliate finial, spurred pommel with grotesque mask cap, foliate escutcheon engraved with a crest, moulded silver ramrod-pipes, and later ramrod (iron parts with surface pitting), London proof marks
