A 16-BORE FLINTLOCK TURN-OFF PISTOL

With three-stage cannon barrel, signed breech engraved with acanthus foliage, shaped foliate tang, moulded figured walnut butt carved in relief with a shell, and inlaid with a cast and chased silver panel on each side of the barrel tang, engraved trigger-guard safety-catch, cast and chased silver mounts, pierced foliate side-plate, escutcheon with mask above and shell beneath and retaining traces of engraved crest and motto, and grotesque mask pommel (scattered minor surface pitting), London proof marks and Foreigner's mark
