A FLINTLOCK BLUNDERBUSS

With three-stage belled brass barrel, octagonal breech section decorated with sprays of foliage, moulded girdle, and pronounced moulding at the muzzle, engraved iron tang, signed border engraved flat bevelled lock with safety-catch and roller, figured walnut three-quarter stock (some cracks and bruising, fore-end a working replacement) carved in relief with a shell behind the barrel tang, brass mounts engraved with rococo ornament, including solid side-plate, and trigger-guard with acorn finial, cast and chased escutcheon with shell above, and associated horn-tipped ramrod (iron parts with some surface pitting), Birmingham proof marks
