A Venice istoriato fluted crespina
Circa 1550
Painted with Diana and her scantily-clad attendants watching Actaeon turning into a stag, between trees and rockwork, a fortified town and blue mountains in the distance, beneath blue and ochre clouds, the reverse inscribed hacteon co uerso/inceruio, on a circular spreading foot (some minor chipping and flaking to rim and footrim, small crack to rim at 3 o'clock)
12 in. (30.5 cm.) diam.

Sir Otto Beit, and thence by descent to the present owners.
