A Meissen figure of a fruit-vendor from the Cris de St. Petersburg series Circa 1745, blue crossed swords mark to back of base
Modelled by J.J. Kändler and P. Reinicke, in a fur-lined blue hat, brown jacket tied with a yellow sash, white breeches, pale-tan socks and black shoes, with a basket of lemons and apples over his left arm, holding an apple in the hand of his outstretched right arm, on a circular mound base applied with flowers and leaves (restoration to neck, right wrist, tips of fingers of left hand, small chip to bottom edge of basket, small chips and some minor overpainting to flowers and leaves on base, one leaf a replacement)
