A French silver striking and repeating small carriage clock, circa 1890
The gorge case inscribed Margaret on the base and with hallmarks for London 1890 to the rear, the underside stamped HUNT & ROSKELL LATE STORR & MORTIMER 9861, the white enamel Roman and Arabic dial (hairline cracks), with further signature to the chapter ring (partially rubbed), blued steel hands, the twin barrel movement with silvered platform to a lever escapement with bimetallic balance, with strike/repeat on gong to the back plate stamped for Drocourt and numbered 26343; with original plush-covered travel case, with retail signature -- 4 1/8in. (10.5cm.) high to hilt of handle
