The case with flaming urn finials to an arched top, wand and serpent cast handles above silk-backed sound frets to the sides, caryatid mounts with trailing flowers to the front angles, the moulded base raised on scroll feet, the dial with cherub mask and foliate spandrels to a silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, gilt matted centre, subsidiary silvered rings in the arch for chime/silent, regulation and Cambridge/Westminster chimes, the substantial triple chain fusee movement with quarter chimes on eight bells and hour strike on gong -- 29in.
