A George III brass wall clock dial and movement, circa 1760
The 8in. diameter engraved brass Roman and Arabic dial with mock pendulum aperture to the centre and signed James Newton London, damaged hour hand and lacking minute hand, the five pillar movement with rectangular plates, twin wire fusees with verge escapement and rack strike on bell positioned to the side; with a possibly original giltwood and gesso carved sunburst wall clock case, now with quartz movement and later painted -- 19in. (49cm.) high
