A George III Scottish oak longcase clock, late 18th century
The hood with swan neck pediment and outset fluted columns, lacking rear columns, glazed side panels, with wavy arched trunk door, on plain plinth, the 12in. brass dial with foliate spandrels to a silvered Roman and Arabic chapter disc engraved to the centre with leafy sprigs, subsidiary seconds and date rings and with flowerhead engraving to the winding holes, blued steel hands, the arch with strike/silent ring signed John Anderson DUNSE, the four pillar movement with anchor escapement and rack strike on bell -- 81in. (206cm.) high
