A George IV mahaogany and brass-mounted striking bracket clock, circa 1820
The case with brass acorn finial to a chamfer top, ripple-moulded cornice, the sides with cornucopia ring handles above silk-backed tracery sound frets, the chamfered front angles applied with brass strips, with further ripple-moulded gallery above a base raised on brass ball feet, with brass-lined fielded panels around the white painted Roman dial, signed Yonge LONDON, blued steel hands, the twin wire fusee movement with anchor escapement and shouldered plates, strike on bell, with pendulum holdfast (screw lacking) to a back plate engraved with a border of leafy sprigs -- 19½in. (49.5cm.) high
