A George IV ebonised and brass inlaid bracket clock with quarter chimes and calendar, circa 1830
The arched case with brass pineapple finial, the sides with gilt-brass loop handles above arched brass tracery sound frets, chamfered front angles, with ripple-moulded gallery above the base, the arched white painted Roman dial signed in the centre JAMES McCABE Royal Exchange LONDON 2345, strike/silent lever above XII, pierced brass hands, with subsidiary rings above for day of week and date, the substantial twin chain fusee movement with anchor escapement, quarter chiming on eight nested bells and hour striking on a further bell, the back plate with pendulum holdfast (lacking screw) -- 25¾in. (65.5cm.) high
