A William IV Scottish mahogany domestic regulator, circa 1830
The shallow architectural top hood with chamfered front angles, conforming angles flanking the drop-down trunk door with moulded frame, the plinth raised on a base with bun feet, with silvered beat scale to the back board, the 12½in. silvered and engraved Roman chapter ring with subsidiary seconds and date rings, signed Bavud (?) Edinburgh, blued steel moon hands, the four pillar movement with dead beat escapement and rack strike on bell -- 79½in. (202cm.) high
