PRE-PRODUCTION WATERCOLOR

A watercolor on board painting depicting Scarlett looking over a bleak landscape which appears to be Tara after the war. Moody and evocative, this type of 'storyboard' was created by the art department at Selznick International Pictures during pre-production so individual scenes could be visualized before shooting started. This piece in particular was likely rendered by either Macmillan Johnson or Dorothea Holt, both artists who worked for Selznick during the "GWTW" era.
